Outside their corporate roles, Chan operated Vivid Ribbon Photography & Design, while Jeff ran his own business, Jeffrey Paul Kelly Photography. Both businesses focused on commercial photography, producing content and visuals for various brands and businesses to support their marketing efforts.
In 2015, Chan initiated UrbanYEG on Instagram, aiming to connect local photographers and foster a positive photography community in Edmonton. UrbanYEG gained rapid popularity, prompting Chan to seek assistance in managing it. He formed a leadership team, with Jeff being one of the key members due to his shared commitment to the ``pay it forward`` philosophy and common objectives.
From 2015 to 2023, Chan and Jeff, along with their dedicated team, led UrbanYEG.
Their deep involvement in UrbanYEG and interactions with fellow content creators significantly expanded Chan and Jeff's ability to think creatively, enabling them to continually develop innovative concepts for their clients. This fresh perspective allowed them to break away from conventional photography visuals and create distinctive brand imagery for their clients.
Furthermore, their respective photography businesses have earned the trust of renowned brands such as Gucci, Aritzia, Oak + Fort, Lululemon, City of Edmonton, Oodle Noodle, and others. This demonstrates their ability to attract high-value clients through their talents, maintain strong relationships, and consistently deliver the exceptional results their clients demand.
